FFVI is one of the -if not the- best RPGs of the SNES era. It has a story that holds up fairly well today, a wealth of memorable content and an immense amount of things to get, places to see and things to do. Being able to play it on your iPad is fantastic, even with the eyebrow-raising price.
Forget about how you cringed at the redone sprites (they actually look strangely good when viewed in-game), the main problem in this iPad version is the controls. In battle, the controls are great. Out of battle however, the controls are just annoying. Youll constantly find yourself taking more steps than necessary. Any spot where you have to walk to one specific square to move onto another, like climbing stairs or crossing a bridge, you have to slowly, painstakingly swipe one square at a time to get where you want to go. Its not a deal breaker, but its gonna make you grumble a few times.
Everything else is as it was, though. You get the same fantastic game as before plus extra content that was originally added (I think) to the GBA release. If the griping about touch based movement didnt sour you, you should play this game.
